I have finally used the cutting mat and have now thrown out all others I had. You don't need as much pressure on your craft knife and the blade glides. This should make cutting blades last a lot longer. I am notoriuos for snapping the very tip off my blades. I haven't done that since I have been using this mat. It has inches on one side but metric on the other.
All in all, a very sound endorsement of this tool.
